History

La Luz Fire and Rescue Department proudly protects 2500 people living in an area of 264 square miles.  We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area.  Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
La Luz Fire and Rescue Department has automatic mutual aid agreements with Dungan Fire Department, Jackrabbit Flats Fire Department and Burro Flats Fire Department. La Luz Fire and Rescue Department also provides mutual aid to the City of Alamogordo and the Village of Tularosa. The La Luz Fire and Rescue Department is a proud supporter of the Every 15 Minutes program.

                        and rescue services to the La Luz Fire District and is staffed by 21
